Before you start

  • A desktop MT5 terminal, logged in to your intended trading account.
  • The protected advisor file and any settings supplied by its author.
  • Confirmed account activation or a valid gift code from support.
  • An internet connection and a computer or VPS that stays running.

Set up your advisor in 6 steps

  1. Download your advisor

    Download the advisor archive from EA Guard and extract the ZIP. Use the protected file supplied for your advisor. Have your activation details and the advisor’s recommended settings ready.

  2. Install it in the right terminal

    Open MetaTrader 5 and choose File → Open Data Folder. Place the advisor file and any supplied folders in MQL5 → Experts, following the package instructions. An .ex5 file is ready to use. For an .mq5 source file, open it in MetaEditor and press F7 to compile; continue only when there are no errors. Return to MT5 and refresh Navigator → Expert Advisors.

  3. Allow the license connection

    In MT5, go to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors. Enable Allow WebRequest for listed URL and add https://eamt5.dev exactly — without /api or a trailing slash. Click OK. Keep the terminal connected to the internet for activation and license checks.

  4. Activate on your trading account

    Log in to the account that will run the advisor. For account activation, send your account number and advisor name to support and wait for confirmation; leave InpGiftCode empty. For gift-code activation, enter your supplied code in InpGiftCode when attaching the advisor. Activation is checked on startup and may bind the advisor to your account and device according to your license.

    Support activates the specified account for the agreed period. No code is needed: keep InpGiftCode empty.

    By gift code

    Paste your code into InpGiftCode in Inputs. The advisor sends it for activation when it starts; the code’s terms determine the license period.

  5. Attach and configure the advisor

    Open the symbol and timeframe recommended for your advisor. Drag it from Navigator → Expert Advisors onto the chart. In Inputs, load the supplied .set file if available, or use the settings recommended by the author. Check lot size and risk before allowing trading. In the advisor’s Common settings, enable Allow Algo Trading.

  6. Enable trading and check the result

    Enable Algo Trading on the MT5 toolbar and in Tools → Options → Expert Advisors. Open Toolbox → Experts and look for a successful license check: [Лицензия] OK. Read any errors on the chart and in Experts / Journal. Leave MT5 running on your computer or VPS. A valid license does not guarantee immediate orders: the advisor also needs its strategy conditions to be met.

Ready to run

License check successful, the correct chart is open, Algo Trading is enabled, and risk settings are reviewed. Start on a demo account where your license permits it. Automated trading involves risk and can result in losses.

If a license is refused or expires, protected trading handlers are blocked. Internet interruptions may allow only the limited offline period configured for that advisor; keep your terminal connected.

Installation & activation troubleshooting

The advisor does not appear in Navigator. What should I check?

Confirm that you installed it in the data folder of the MT5 terminal you are actually using, not MT4 or another MT5 installation. Refresh Expert Advisors. If you received .mq5, compile it successfully in MetaEditor first. Follow any supplied instructions for include files or libraries.

I see a WebRequest or license-server connection error.

Check the internet connection and add https://eamt5.dev in Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → Allow WebRequest for listed URL. Do not add /api. Reattach the advisor after correcting the settings. MT5 Strategy Tester does not support WebRequest, so test activation in a connected terminal, not in the tester.

My gift code or account activation is refused.

Check the code for typing errors, the selected trading account and whether support has confirmed activation for this advisor. A code may be expired, disabled or have reached its usage limit. Contact support with the account number, advisor name and the exact error — never send your trading password.

What if I change my computer, VPS or trading account?

Licenses may be bound to an account and device, with a limited number of devices. A different computer, VPS or terminal location can require a new binding. Contact support before moving; do not assume activation will transfer automatically.

The license is valid, but no trades are opening.

Check Algo Trading both globally and in the advisor settings, the symbol and timeframe, market hours, available margin and risk settings. Look in Experts / Journal for trade errors. Some strategies wait for a signal; successful activation alone does not mean an order should open immediately.

Do I need to enable DLL imports?

The EA Guard protection for trading advisors uses WebRequest and does not itself require DLL imports. Protected indicators use a different connection method and require DLL imports; install them in MQL5 → Indicators and follow their supplied instructions. Only enable DLLs for files from a source you trust.
